Who are we?
ASASE Foundation is a legally registered Non-Governmental Organization (N.G.O.) in the Greater Accra Region. It was created on March 25th, 2017 to enable Ghanaian women entrepreneurs to play a key role in cashing-in on the plastic waste trash of Accra, for the benefit of their own communities.
CASH IT! Recycling Plant is the first social enterprise launched in Nov. 2019 to reprocess plastic packaging waste collected in the community and with waste pickers who become formal employees and get training to work in a plant.
The ASASE Foundation is managing CASH IT! Recycling Plant until it becomes self-sustainable economically, when the assets are transferred to the employees of CASH IT! and the Foundation opens a new plant in a new community in Accra.
What did we realize so far?
- Completed Phase 1 – Launch the project, establish first social enterprise and connect with the industry and community (2018-2019)
- Started Phase 2 – Scale up CASH IT! and develop one new end market application through partnership with a local entrepreneur
What is the scope of the scale up of CASH IT! Recycling Plant?
- Divert 2’000 Tons of plastic waste per year from litter in Kpone-Katamanso, with an expanded capacity in the CASH IT! plant and by operating the plant in 2 shifts
- Drive the development of a network of collectors in Kpone-Katamanso and reprocess a minimum of 160T per month of HDPE and LDPE supplied by this network of suppliers
- Further, demonstrate a business model for CASH IT! recycling plant that allows continuous operation without subsidies
- Build 2 more CASH IT! Recycling Plants in 2 other Municipalities in Greater Accra Region, by replicating the model developed in Kpone-Katamanso.

CASH IT! Plant Manager
This position requires management of the existing CASH IT! Recycling Plant in Katamanso, interaction with the ASASE leadership team in the launch of the 2 new CASH IT! plants in two new Municipalities in the Greater Accra Region and, management of these new plants as they reach full scale.
The role will report to the Managing Director of ASASE Foundation.
Job responsibilities
- Day to day administration, supervision and managing of the recycling plant
- Assists the Managing Director of ASASE Foundation in setting recycling plans, goals and initiatives in the organization
- Supervises the Shift Supervisors in the organization of production schedules
- Ensures that set production goals are met in an efficient manner
- Assists in drawing and implementing operations budget
- Liaise with the Commercial Manger in coordinating plastic purchase/collection and sales schedules
- Responsible for the financial and book-keeping duties of the recycling plants
- Assists in the recruitment and training of employees of the recycling plants
- Prepares and presents reports of daily production
- Leads in the procurement of all factory material needed
- In charge of recycling facility meeting safety and quality standards
- Schedules and supervises implementation of maintenance plan for all equipment
- Ensures all production is carried out in appropriate and cost-effective manner
Skills and Competencies
- Very efficient user of production and planning tools
- Excellent reporting ability
- Passion to work with a focus on results and efficiency
- Able to work under pressure when meeting targets and deadlines
- Good team management and people interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a complex team within the plant workers, service providers and business partners
- References will be requested
Required Level of Education
- Must be a first-degree holder preferably with a mechanical engineering, environmental or social science background
- Business management education is a plus; alternatively, eagerness to learn through on-the-job training
- Proficient in English and Microsoft Office

CASH IT! Commercial and Logistics Manager
This position requires management of the existing Commercial and Logistics needs of CASH IT! Recycling Plant in Katamanso, interaction with the ASASE leadership team in the launch of the 2 new CASH IT! plants in two new Municipalities in the Greater Accra Region and, management of these new plants as they reach full scale.
The role will report to the Managing Director of ASASE Foundation.
Job responsibilities
- Procurement of Plastics from established and new suppliers
- Collaboration with the Collection Centers of ASASE to create a new and innovative model to manage plastic waste in the communities
- Prospection of new buyers for new sustainable end applications
- Selling of Plastics products from CASH IT! Plants to buyers
- Identification of new buyers for CASH IT! Products
- Management of the vehicular and logistical needs of CASH IT! Recycling Plants in relation to transportation.
- Management of the fleet of ASASE vehicles including tricycles
- Submitionof monthly reports on commercial and logistics of ASASE Foundation operations
- Other duties may be assigned by management as the need arises
